A tower of spirited light. The Damasco Table Lamp from Vistosi creates an alluring mood as a handcrafted Murano glass tower wrapped in tiers of artful highlights. Creator Paolo Crepax’s designs are a reflection of his time growing up in the Murano glass kilns. Crepax’s work tells of his passion for glass and its many variations. Here, Crepax uses variation to move the eye. Glass artists start with a foundation of a curved cylindrical form. This cylinder is covered by hand with molten glass threads to create a light-mellowing and catching textured surface. The cylindrical shade stands up without distraction over a low-profile metal base. Light beams up from the base to give the glass layers of highlights. The light filters out as a cozy ambient aura around the piece. Shape: Oval. Color: Clear. Finish: Satin Nickel.
