Like a glass marble in the palm of one’s hands, this piece mesmerizes from any viewing angle. Designed in 2003 using a groundbreaking glass-making technique, the Poc Table Lamp from Vistosi is imagined with the idea of an ever-changing form. This table lamp’s clear sense of craftmanship underscores designer Barbara Maggiolo’s passion for glass. Maggiolo’s pieces preach of the atmospheric qualities of the time-tested material. Here, Maggiolo presents an exploding display of shapes never before seen in a blown glass globe. Artisans repeat steps of blowing, flatting, and revolving to achieve the transforming shade.
