So pure in execution it’s hard to believe the eyes. Fitting of its name, the Mirage LED Pendant from Vistosi captures the wondrous results of glassblowing, with gestural lines and layered illumination. Studying the Murano glass-making tradition, Designer Giovanni Barbato’s work explores the limitless qualities of glass. Barbato’s pendant blurs the lines between lighting and art. He gives the material a gravity-defying quality with an ultra-fine suspension. The shades are mouth-blown into deep, rounded forms accented by contrasting glass contours. The contours give the illusion of a disk shape suspended inside. A low-profile LED module sits on top to highlight every inch of glass. The light streams through the opening as a down glow and scatters out the rounded sides for a relaxed aura. Shape: Abstract. Color: Amber. Finish: White Amber.
