Its a showstopping piece taking hold of ones attention in its lovely figure and seductive light. The delicate and sculptural quality of the skirt design stresses Karen Gilberts work as a craft artist. Its cords move delicately in a circular arrangement with a feeling of lightness. Handblown glass shades made in the Czech Republic cap off the piece in charming globe forms. To give them a personality of their own, the mouth of the globes is polished up with a fiery torch.
