It’s a birch wood piece, a strong, resilient material native to Finland, designer Seppo Koho’s home country. Koho showcases the timeless beauty of the material with a handcrafted process that begins with sculptural prototyping. His design is handed off to Finnish artisans who bring it to life with great attention to detail. One after the other angular birch wood slats follows in a circle, resulting in a clean geometric form underlined by an airy feel. For visual comfort, the bulb tucks away on top. The bulb sets off a lively silhouette as it brightens the interior of the wood contours with a golden hue. Over a dining table or out in an open space, the filtered light seduces with softness.
