In 1968, Tapio Wirkkala was inspired by the melting ice in his native Lapland in his design of the Iittala Ultima Thule Centerpiece Bowl/Platter. He carved his envisioned pattern into a graphic mold. That original pattern morphed, however, as the glass gradually burned its way through the wood mold. The results then, as now, were highly distinctive and one of the kind. Color: Clear.
