Detail
Although the name and texture implies the plaid motif found on woolen textiles, the inspiration behind the Foscarini Tartan Pendant is not what you would expect. The creamy silhouette was actually based on how resonant sound waves effected a shallow tray of milk. This uniquely interactive method of concept to design is what gives the Tartan such a brilliant appearance whether lit or unlit, formed by hand-blowing the glass in to a mold with the gridded pattern. A circular opening in the base creates a generous spot of light in addition to the soft illumination surrounding the shade. Shape: Globe. Finish: White.
