When a long-lost chair from 1951 turned up from an auction, Emeco set out to give it the welcome back it deserved by employing the forward-thinking car designer at BMW Designworks, Adrian van Hooydonk. The stackable Emeco 1951 Stool flips what was originally a Navy hospital chair into a modern design statement with the simple, utilitarian, and masculine qualities the iconic brand is known for. As a car designer, Adrian van Hooydonk comes at his work pushing for technical innovation while retaining the heart & soul of the brand. While not a zooming car, Adrian set out to bring dynamism to the original hospital chair, tightening its proportions and flaring out its angles. The recycled aluminum structure follows the Emeco tradition, using a 77-step handcrafted process. Recycled plastic seats serve as another modern touch, bringing strength, color, and comfort. Color: Black.
