A refined design paying homage to jazz icon Louis Armstrong and his classic brass instrument. Handmade in France, the Louis XL Pendant from CVL Luminaires reimagines the warm and serene feeling you get from the sounds of Louis’ trumpet as a spirited light. The pendant’s fresh yet familiar aesthetic is owed to designer Émilie Cathelineau’s appreciation for vintage and contemporary designs. Cathelineau elegantly suggests the classic bell and pipe elements of a trumpet with a lamp holder that tapers finely to match the slender contour of the cord suspension. The holder’s brass construction further connects it to the brass instrument. While Louis blew into a mouthpiece to achieve a beautiful sound, French artisans do similar to achieve the intriguing blown glass shade. Like a trumpet’s mute, the shade caps of the bottom with an elegant pattern wrapping across. Light streams through the glass with a resonating quality for a comfortable ambiance. Shape: Teardrop.
