The Medina Wall Sconce from Barovier & Toso treats the eyes to a piece of glass art in a generous scale, covered from top to bottom with streaking highlights. Recording over 7 centuries of history, creator Barovier & Toso sees itself as custodians of Venetian glassmaking tradition. Here, the studio demonstrates Murano craftsmanship with a mouthblown Venetial crystal form. This form’s oversized quality evokes the curvy figures of Fernando Botero’s drawings. It hangs gracefully with a metal collar and is topped with a classic drum shade. The shade funnels the light vertically to achieve a streaming glow and wavy highlights. Finish: Grey.
