The Pagode Sofa from Audo Copenhagen, formerly Menu, is all its name implies, recalling the pointed roof and curved edges of a pagoda, and creating a similar sense of wonder with an architectural silhouette and a soft resting surface. Husband-and-wife design team Tove & Edvard Kindt-Larsen’s work emphasized contrasts and simplicity, with this contrast showing in the sofa’s wood and fabric combo. The wood legs angle sharply, similar to a rigid foundation. The seat on top arcs gently upward from the sides, featuring sweeping contours that make the piece look and feel airy.
