The Model 537 Table Lamp from Astep is an open, playful creation that puts the extreme talent of renowned designer Gino Sarfatti on full display. A brilliant assembly of rich materials with a playful design, it ascends from a circular marble base via a curving brass rod that thrusts through an inverted ovoid disc of durable and smooth-surfaced spun aluminum. The continuity of the brass rod functions as a handle to reposition the entire lamp with ease, saluting the contrast of materials, while the shade blunts bright glare from the lamping into a wide-reaching warmth that enlivens the natural imperfections of the marble disc that supports it.
