In the Alessi Ossidania Stovetop Espresso, designer Mario Trimarchi successfully combines sculptural beauty with function. The thermoplastic resin handle and knob in black make handling easy and safe when the espresso is ready and hot, and the aluminum casting of the body gives that ultra-modern look. The profile is meant to resemble a block being chipped away at, like a marble sculpture.
