Designer Patricia Urquiolas deep curiosity and a constant push for creating new from the familiar lead her to create the dreamy wood-like design of the Veneer Bowl from Alessi. Urquiolas work can be described as observant, looking at familiar elements like wood in this case, and giving them a new context. Urquiola recreates the artful patterns of wood grain, using an embossed process on the steel construction. The wavy pattern is something you not only can see; its something you can feel.
