The Bety Eco Table Lamp from Arturo Alvarez was designed in 2008 and incorporates the artist’s quest to use simple geometric designs in an intriguing and manner. Made by hand in Spain, a metal tripod offers an airy but strong anchor for the candelabra-style lamping, controlled by a cord switch that drops from its center. A wider metal hoop above the lamping suspends outward-curving strips of cellulose shade around the lamping, offering artistic flair while mellowing glare and ensuring functionality isn’t forgotten.
